Cool is part of the 2002 Farm bill requiring all processors to label selected agricultural products with their Country of Origin. Cooperation allows us to represent your cattle to the best available markets.
Do I have to sign this document every time I sell cattle?
We are collecting this document to cover all your cattle for the foreseeable future provided there is no change in it’s validity. You will need to notify us if there is any change within your operation.
Who should sign the affidavit?
Only the individual with first hand knowledge (owner/manager) of the livestock being transferred may sign a Country of Origin affidavit. Truckers or Transporters cannot sign for the origin of livestock.
How do animals qualify as U.S. born and raised?
All animals residing in the United States of America previous to July 15, 2008 and raised thereafter in the United States of America.
All animals through first hand knowledge and proper documentation which have been born and raised in the United States of America.
Can I sell animals from Canada or Mexico?
Animals born or fed outside the United States of America after July 15, 2008 can be sold but will have to be represented as such and sold for mixed origin.
